Sea Levels Dynamical Downscaling and Climate Change Projections at the Uruguayan Coast

چکیده

This work implements a dynamical downscaling approach, based on set of nested two-dimensional hydrodynamic models, to quantify the expected changes in total sea level climate and its components for Uruguayan coast, using surface wind pressure projections from global models generated during Phase 5 Coupled Models Inter-Comparison Project, considering three time horizons: historical period (1986-2005), short term (2027-2045) long (2082-2100), future scenarios RCP 4.5 8.5. It is concluded that main contribution projected area regional mean rise, followed importance by effect increase water depth has amplitude tidal components. Moreover, it meteorological residuals (or surges), associated with potential atmospheric circulation patterns, are negligible study area. The obtained results reinforce need resort dynamic projecting areas characterized wide shallow continental shelfs estuaries, as this approach allows resolve interactions may arise between tides, surges something cannot addressed an solely statistical downscaling.

Caspian Sea south coast future climate change estimations through regional climate model

. Caspian Sea south coast future climate change estimations through regional climate model many physical of the procedures related to climate change are not perceived thoroughly. Scientific knowledge used to show those procedures completely, and to analyses forecasts is so complex, since most current studies about climate physical model have been done through semi experimental and random model...

Evaluating the utility of dynamical downscaling in agricultural impacts projections.

Interest in estimating the potential socioeconomic costs of climate change has led to the increasing use of dynamical downscaling--nested modeling in which regional climate models (RCMs) are driven with general circulation model (GCM) output--to produce fine-spatial-scale climate projections for impacts assessments. We evaluate here whether this computationally intensive approach significantly ...

Climate change projection of snowfall in the Colorado River Basin using dynamical downscaling

[1] Recent observations show a decrease in the fraction of precipitation falling as snowfall in the western United States. In this work we evaluate a historical and future climate simulation over the Colorado River Basin using a 35 km continuous 111 year simulation (1969–2079) of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) regional climate model with boundary forcing from the Hadley Centre for C...

Generalization of a statistical downscaling model to provide local climate change projections for Australia

Climate change information required for impact studies is of a much finer spatial scale than climate models can directly provide. Statistical downscaling models (SDMs) are commonly used to fill this scale gap. SDMs are based on the view that the regional climate is conditioned by two factors: (1) the largescale climatic state and (2) local physiographic features. An SDM based on an analogue app...
